The newest page from my blog: Play and Believe!
As I have done with the others, I would like to start this one talking about the social website specialized in games... This one I found more difficult to decide. There are a lot of them, but then I could after a while choose for one two sites... They are Gamespot and Raptr.
The only reason I keep using both of them is because they are complementary... In both you can have your games listings, of course, as well as your profile page, your friends, blog, etc. You can rate your games, review them, and so on. However, I find that Gamespot has a bigger archieve of games, news interviews, etc. So whenever I am looking for information reaggarding games is where I look for... It has an easy search engine... Moreover, Gamespot has its own achievements and levels, that you earn or level up as you use the website and its properties, which let's face it, is pretty nice, isn't it?. On the other hand, Raptr is the only one that links with your gaming IDs live, and for that, it links better with Facebook and Twitter, updating automatically (if you wish) your statuses as "playing XX" if you are connected, for example to Live when playing in your Xbox or to Steam when playing in your PC. Through this same feature it is able to automatically add a new game from these platforms as you play them, not being necessary to manually add these new games to your listings... The final conclusion as to why using both: they connect to each other. Gamespot is only able to import your achievements listing from every platform that is not the Gamespot itself (Xbox, PC, etc.) by searching through your Raptr profile. Both have iPhone applicatives, but in Gamespot's there is only its game database and not your profile...
